Cone, Wells, Hernandez

Cone, Wells and Hernandez will always be remembered as great Yankee contributers.
David Cone (retired), David Wells and Orlando Hernandez (traded) were all  very good pitchers for the Yankees

  David Cone

Cone shares major league record for striking out the side on nine pitches. In 1994 he was named righthanded pitcher on The Sporting News AL All-Star team and named AL Cy Young Award winner by Baseball Writers Association of America. And on July 1999 he pitched a Perfect Game.

  David Wells

David was only four years with the Yankees, but in those four years he ammassed an amazing record of 74 and 28. However, 1998 was his most amazing year ever. In 1998 he had 8 CG, 5 SHO, and an ERA of 3.49 which made him an All Star. He also pitched a perfect game on May 17th 1998, and he holds A.L. single-season records for most consecutive batsmen retired of 38 (May 12th [last 10], 17th [all 27] and 23rd [first], 1998)

  Orlando Hernandez

A power pitcher with great command, El Duque could throw everything but the kitchen sink at hitters. He always had a wicked slider and curve, and his fastball's movement was a difficult one to pick up, especially among righties. El Duque spent six years with the Yankees, during that period he was 61 and 40 committing only 2 errors in 139 games. However, it's what Orlando did in the playoffs that impressed; Hernandez was 9-2 with a 2.56 ERA in 12 postseason starts with NY.
