Mariano Rivera
The game's best closer becomes supernaturally good in the play-offs. His quiet demeanour has only added to his aura of invincibility over the Yankees' golden streak of recent years. Rivera set a postseason record for consecutive scoreless innings pitched. He will be a key performer for the Yankees because when he is on form the game ends once he takes the mound. He owns a lifetime ERA of 2.29, and he has 413 saves in 12 years for the Yankees, he commited only 7 errors in his life. Rivera was also the World Series MVP in 1999.

Luis Sojo
If it wasn't for Luis Sojo, the Yankees might not have been celebrating a fourth championship in five years after the 2000 season. Sojo was a catalyst throughout the postseason for New York, he is a pesky hitter who never gives away an at-bat and often goes the other way. Sojo was always an important part of the team, maybe more off the field than on, on the bench he would make you smile when you made a mistake and keep you on your guard when the team needed the most out of you. Sojo retired at the end of the 2001 season but came back in 2003 as player/coach to help the younger yankees, and he even appeared in 3 games and guess what they made the World Series again. Sojo will always be the Yankees good luck charm.
