The Heart and Soul for the GIANTS was Jessie Armstead
He was the type of player to leave it all on the field, he played hurt, he played all the time and he brought the GIANTS to the Super Bowl in 2001.

# 98 Jessie Armstead
An eighth-round steal in the 1993 draft, the former University of Miami star has appeared in 144 games and started 98 of them. He has 799 tackles, 30.5 sacks, 11 forced fumbles, four recoveries, 12 interceptions and 52 passes defensed.

The Giants and Armstead had to part ways when the salary cap forced the team to cut one of the best LB's in the NFL for the past 5 years.

"I parted with the organization on good terms...I'm thankful the Giants gave me an opportunity for nine years." said Armstead

Jesse You Will Be Missed

Jessie Made It Easy
We all know Lawrence Taylor was the best there ever was and we all know Harry Carson is another Hall Of Fame candidate. It was hard when both thse players left the GIANTS but a few years later in a game against Arizona a player named Jessie Armstead intercepted the ball and brought it back 58 yards for the winning touchdown! Since 1996 Armstead started 96 straight game for the G-Men and he made the Pro Bowl his last 5 years with the team, even in 2001 when he was bothered by various injuries.
